Three tips on how to make your eyes appear bigger using false lashes....

This all depends on your actual eye shape, the eye #makeup you use and the lash you choose. There are so many factors to it.

Today we’ll be talking about the lash you choose. There are thousands of lashes out there. Trying to differentiate between them can be quite difficult especially for newbie lash wearers. The basic rule I follow is if you want your eyes to appear bigger then less is more. We want length, #curl and definition. Big butterfly like #lashes should be avoided as they will only weigh your eyes down and can often result in the eyes looking smaller if not carefully selected.

Here are my three top tips on how to make your eyes appear bigger using false lashes....

1. Definition - If you have very small, mature or hooded eyes then space it out and do look for lashes that have gaps between the eyelashes. This type of lash is designed to allow the eye makeup and lid space to show through, therefore, enabling the eyes to appear bigger. Very full, thick lashes can drown a smaller eye so its important to choose a lash which has the lightness and definition your eye requires.

2. Length – length is important to open up the eye. Too much length (if your eyes can’t support it) and you can go into camel eye territory. We don’t want to look like camels (unless you like that look) We want believable length. If your eyes are big, then you can go with a long, full, voluminous #lash as your eye shape can support it but if your eyes are smaller, too much length can easily have the adverse effect.

Length which is concentrated in the middle of the false lash can really open up the eye, equally length that is concentrated on the outer corner can elongate so it depends on what look your wanting to achieve.

3. Curl – this one will make all the difference in my experience. A lash with a good curl will give you the most beautiful open eyed effect. A #lash too straight and you will hardly see it, no matter how beautiful it is.  A lash too curly can separate from your #natural lash and give a split end effect where you can see your natural lash underneath even after using an eyelash curler. The right curl will blend effortlessly with your natural lash and transition seamlessly.

Remember, one size doesn’t fit all and you will need to ensure your lash is correctly cut to size and fitted for it to look and sit right. We have a separate #blog on this. Click here to view.

I hope you found this blog helpful. Achieving a professional look using false lashes doesn't have to be difficult but it does take practice. We are always available to offer help and advice on all things lashes.
